Specs: Top: Mahogany Back and sides: Mahogany Tuners: Chrome Electronics: Nada Firstly I have to say I think this is laminate because usually Takamine says "S" near the wood type if it's solid. However in searching the net, I have found people swearing it was solid, as well as people saying laminate. I sent a message to Takamine asking about it, but haven't heard back yet. Ok the first thing I thought when I saw this guitar was "WOW" the finish is amazing, the guitar looks in great shape for being older than me. The second thing I thought was "Hey it looks like a martin!" Exactly why Takamine was sued by Martin, this guitar is a copy of the D-17 Martin made around the same time period. Martin was losing sales obviously because this guitar is considered by some to be just as good (possibly) if not better than it's martin twin. (Lets not go that far ok?) The action on mine is quite low, which is good for light strumming or finger picking but thats about it. I am adjusting the truss rod to raise it up just a little bit. Right now it plays like butter which is very nice, but I can't stand the buzzing. Now I've played many guitars made by everyone from Alvarez to Taylor, I've owned two Takamines. one Jasmine and one Alvarez. This guitar sounds better than all of them combined-even with the buzzing! It plays nicer than all of them (granted with low action). The wood and sound have just gotten better with age. The praise leader in my church played it last night and was in awe of it's sound, it reminded him of his martin that he got when he was in his early 20s (so around the same time this one was made) Obviously this guitar has no Electronics which is the only negative I can think of. Looking at it now you wouldn't think it was 25 years old-which leads me to assume this thing is super durable. My rating I think 5/5 is a fair rating-I love this guitar and it sounds better than anything else I have played. Paid: 250.00 US Ebay (The seller had it listed under the model number not "Martin Lawsuit" or something similar, which raise the price) What it's worth: My ebay searches have led me to price it around 400-500 US but since it is ebay its hard to say. Some more reviews Takamine website

Very nice looking guitar. Wish it was electric as well, and I'd pick it up, but right now, I'm looking for something acoustic/ electric. Good luck w/ it...
