All the specs on the guitar you can get from the Gretsch website so I'll just touch on some major points.
This guitar is the Brian Setzer signature model, I'm not big on having someone elses name on my guitar but that's another story. Basically this is a replica of a 1959 Gretsch 6120 with some improvements.
The body uses the '59 style trestle bracing making the top a little stiffer to help with tone and cut down feedback. The top is shaved down a little thinner than the standard 6120, again for sound improvements. This gives the guitar a nice airy tone, it breathes well. The top can vibrate well which gives a good sound to the instrument.
Next are the TV Jones Classic pickups. They are made to replicate the '59 Gretsch pickups and do a good job of it. For a humbucker they are really bright. They have a grindy bite to them with a twang that culminates to a sound unlike anything else on the market.
The fretboard and neck are great. The neck has a shaved heal to help reach higher frets. The sperzel locking tuners are a nice touch to the guitar. They make string changing a breeze.
This guitar really fits for all types of music. It's got a great and unique sound. Being brand new, mine took a while to break into it's own sweet spot but it is perfect now. They can be expensive but if you have a chnace to play one do it or find a good deal on one, buy it. Gretsch makes great guitars.
Ha ha, Thanks Logan. Now if I could play like you I'd be set.
I searched for several years to get a good deal on a guitar like this one. If I could only have one guitar for the rest of my life it would be this one.
Here's a short clip of some finger picking. I'll post a clip with some lead and different stuff later but it could be a while. I ripped my thumb nail half off on my picking hand
