This pedal is a clone of the old 70's Dan Armstrong Orange Squeeze compressor.
This box has 1 knob. That's all it needs. It has a bias trim inside the pedal, so you have to open it up to set it. This is NOT a clean, quiet compressor. This guy does color your sound. It gives it a bit of dirt/bite while also doing a little squashing of the signal. I play more rock/blues that I do country, so I wasn't looking for the Paisley/Mason sound. The original Dan Armstrong was used frequently by the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, and a few other 70's rock guitarists. The compression can vary from oh-so-slight to severely squashed. I have it set for a slight compression and I leave it on throughout the night. Only turning it off for super-soft slow-dance songs. Again, as I said, it does add some dirt to your sound.
The big negative is the trim knob tucked away inside the pedal.
It is true bypass.
I paid $170 for once with teh DC jack 3 years ago. The price has gone up since then to $180.
