The Obama Administration was setting up it's White House Press Conference schedule and invited ABC...NBC...CBC...and CNN to cover the events. The Administration when asked, said Fox would not be invited.
ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN , after a joint meeting, told the Obama Administration, "if Fox wasn't allowed to participate, then they would not cover the events either".
The Administration...after further review, and under threat of mutiny...felt it might be better to allow Fox the right to participate.
Can you just imagine the Bush administration telling ABC that they would not be allowed to cover a conference because they were not in lock-step with the administration.
This elitist bunch of socialist are right on the brink of being tarred and feathered...and run out on a rail.
Even our resident Country Tab socialist will agree it's not good to silence the press....it tends grows little Adolph Obamas.

Kris...how about protection of the 1st and 14th amendment for all citizens. If the government can squash dissent...then we're all screwed.

I never said I agreed with it...
While I agree that Hannity and Glen Beck are extremists, It would be no different than the Bush administration telling MSNBC that they couldn't cover them because they have Keither Olberman and Rachel Maddow.
I think it was a rather stupid move myself.
Too bad it couldn't have been handled differently to bring awareness to media biases from ALL news channels.

Now Aaron ,Bush didn't...the socialists would have revolted.
Chavez is shutting down newspapers and TV stations. Quesion: Was the book Chavez handed to Obama a blueprint on setting up a dictatorship ?
Why would Obama he want to silence the press ? This is your guy.....you defend his actions, if you can.

I am sure TMZ wasn't invited either, same quality of journalistic integrity. I don't agree with banning the press at all but when it comes to Fox News, I can understand the desire. Whole thing was handled badly.

Since 1997 Fox has been apart of the White House Press Pool...come on Calve, it's a little different than TMZ. For Obama's boys to exclude Fox was a direct slap in the face to America's press.
Obama didn't want Fox News there because He simply cant blow smoke up America's a*s, without fear of being questioned. Hell Chris Mathews still gets a tingling up his leg when Obama speaks. Now that's being a journalist...isn't it.

Name a time that Bush proposed a lockout of a member of the Press Pool ?
Giving interviews is different...Obama has given Fox less interviews than the Late Night Talk Shows. What were talking about is the general Press Pool.
If CNN.,ABC ,NBC, and CBC all said Obama was wrong...you damn sure know it was wrong.

It's amazing that you would try to equate the Fox event with "Times Reporters left off of Air Force One plane".
Aaron, the Democrats can't give you any "proven report" of a wiretap on a reporter during Bush's presidency......that's bullshit.
Bush didn't own the Senate, Congress, and Presidency...so let's not talk dictatorship, unless your referring to our current situation. Just because you and the DNC say he acted like a dictator, doesn't make it so.
By the way...when is Obama gonna take responsibility for his own administration. It's now been 10 months.
If you blame Bush for 9-11...then you can blame Obama for the unemployment of a million of your Michigan residents and the bankruptcy of California...don't you?
