I found his songs to be very formulaic if that's a word. Not really original, kind of a watered down version of what's been coming out of texas for the last 5 years or so. Which is a watered down version of what was coming out of texas 10 years ago. In my opinion anyways. If you look at the liner notes all the songs are written by him and a couple of "Nashville" writers, to me the songs come across as somewhat cheesy and pandering to a set crowd of somewhat rowdy somewhat country twenty year olds. But take it as a grain of salt for I have only heard that Smalltown USA song and a few snipits of his other stuff from that album.

I like Moore. He seems pretty darn authentic. I love "I Can Kick Your Ass". Great tune. Guy's a total hick from Arkansas. Also, just heard this dude called Easton Corbin. Voice just like Strait. Check him out.

Justin Moore is just one more no talent, one hit wonder!! I am so dissatisfied with the state ofcountry music. What are these music company execs thinking? Too many pretty boy/girl bubble gummers including Swift,Chesney(sick of those beach songs), Luke Bryan, Chris Young, and on and on and on. All music coming out these days sounds like bad rock n roll! Thank goodness for the Classic or Traditional stations! Real country music has gone to hell in a hand basket!!!!

NCHICK, I shall defer to you, you are right about most country music comingout now is crap! Cut me some slack, I started out playing country music in 1956( I'm an ole fart!, that's what my 6 year old grandson calls me)! When some of the up tempo stuff came out( referred to now as rockabilly), some of the older cats said we were ruining or killing country music. In 1958 I was playing with a fellow named Harold Jenkins from Helena, Arkansas. He later became Conway Twitty. Our drummer, Jack Nance, from my hometown wrote 'Its Only Make Beleive' and Harold/Conway declared he was going strictly rock and roll. We know how that worked out. Later, I played with Carl Perkins when he first started out and we caught Heck from the crowd that we ruined country music. So, with your reply, I started to remember that I'm doing the same thing the crowd was doing back then. When you get old, the memory goes first. The music goes in cycles and is generational, I think. But I am still at loss as to the appeal of Rascal Flatts. They are terrible representatives of country music. AAAHHH, I feel so much better now that I vented!!!! I follow your Phillies closely, hope they win their division. BUT, I'm a big ST LOUIS CARDINALS fan.

I love me some Rockabilly...old and new! I agree with you that acts like Rascall Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift etc...are terrible representatives of country music, but if that's what the masses want to hear, that's all we're gonna hear on the radio stations. Then, you do have mainstream acts like George Strait, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, and people like that who do put some decent music out there. While I don't like a lot of what's on the radio these days, I don't really want to knock any sort of music. The Phillies are the NL East champs again woo! Unfortunately, game 3 was postponed until tomorrow because of snow and ice in Denver already! I like the Cardinals as well...my parents moved to STL 2 years ago, and I totally got into the whole Cards thing. In the event that STL is playing Philly in the NLCS though, I gotta go with my hometown team.
