Simple to use Phaser pedal from MXR. One knob and one on/off switch. I purchased this pedal new back in 1993. Fantastic pedal for classic Phaser effects. Can easily cop Waylon-esque tones with a Tele and early Van Halen tones with a humbucker. The single knob controls the speed/rate of the filter sweep and that's the only thing you need to worry about. Physical characteristics: Small and orange. That's it. Nice feature is the rubber top for the knob. Makes it very easy to adjuct the speed "on the fly" with your foot. 9v battery or AC adaptor. I have owned both Boss and DOD phasers before and the MXR just seems clearer to my ears. I very rarely go beyond the 9:00 setting (7:00 being slowest and 5:00 being fastest), and the effect is there, but not "in your face" like some other effects. Very clean, subtle, and dynamic. I've had this pedal for about 13 years now, the longest I've had any pedal. I will never get rid of it, and if it goes south, I'd replace it in a heartbeat. I don't use it all that often, but when I do want a Phaser, this is the one for me. If you're looking for a Phaser, I'd recommend this. MSRP: $120 or so. I paid $70 for it back in 1993.
