ONE OF the most notorious chapters of the Vietnam War - indeed, in American military history - was the 1968 killing of 22 civilians in the village of My Lai.
Last week, the former Army lieutenant convicted on 22 counts of murder for his role in the slayings apologized for the first time. "I feel remorse for the Vietnamese who were killed, for their families, for the American soldiers involved and their families," William Calley told members of Kiwanis Club in Columbus. "I am very sorry."

Calley has never denied that he carried out the massacre, which the Army tried to cover up.
Instead, his defense was similar to others who have committed atrocities during wartime - he was following orders.

Did anyone watch the Niners game this weekend? It wasn't aired here.

(Just Figured I'd start a conversation people can see in this thread)

It's ok Alvarez, they are all shell shocked and tired of getting a truth whooping.   But don't worry, like you they peak out from behind the "ignore" switch every now and then to get a dose.  Too bad you couldn't sell seats in that closet that you and Danthe MantheOneNightStand hide in.  It would be packed.  You'd make a fortune.

So I guess Calley was just following orders and it's ok to have murdered those people.  So maybe America is just getting what it deserves?

So the Niners got back on the win track rousting an 0-3 team. We'll see what happens when they face up to the Falcons next week. Should be a good game.

And Memphis beat UTEP 35-21 (or some such) which was more of a shock than a thrill -- the stadium is about 3 clicks from my back porch and they fire a cannon with every score. Sounded like My Lai but smelled way better.

Nice photo of Joey the Crip -- swell suit -- always was a snappy dresser.
