. . . . Jane, Karen, Luann, saving the second half of the alpha sequence for the long weekend ahead. Seriously, best wishes Kevin, hope to have you home soon. Studio space finished this past weekend, beer in the fridge, BBQ on speed dial. (or whatever they call it these days!)

B2, I am making plans to try and go on tour. I am not sure how far it will reach but I know you are due west of the route I have to take ot Ohio. I am sure it could be arranged.

Depending on your routing and timing, you could venture NW from Birmingham or sort of west (slightly SW) from Nashville. Good roads either way. The aforementioned assumes a departure from west central Georgia. My brother was in Columbus for a while so I have made the trip each way. What takes you to Ohio, reminds me of Billy Curringtons one great hit "People are Crazy" wherein the quesion is put "what brings you to Ohio?" -- "Damned if i know" -- but I am sure you will/do know.

I usually hit I-40W from Nashville. I know some folks there also. But I am aware of some back roads that may get me there as well. I have to go over the mountain in Rome, GA and come in that way.

With the backroad version from the TN-GA border west of Chattanooga (or is that Alabama already) you can meander past Lynchburg (mecca for some of us) and catch US 64 across the southern tier of TN all the way to Memphis, passing near Grand Junction wherein our buddy MICROSYNC resides (methinks) -- I have done that when I get weary of the interstate version of the world. mileage is about the same, roads are pretty good/great and largely untravelled by the thundering herds -- plus a lot more of Americana. My favorite of the year was the household veggie stand beside the highway with the garden goodies on an unattended table with a loose cash box on the side and the sign that simply said take what you want and "put the money in the box" -- we bought a couple of tomatos just for the thrill of putting the money in the box (along with the other cash payments)

Among the many reasons why and how my faith (secular) is restored by a ride in the country, and that also speaks to the themes of Americana music in general.
