Garth Brooks signature I believe 2002 model.
  • Natural finish
  • Rosewood finger board
  • String through bridge, no pins (I like them better this way)
  • On board tuner
  • Hardshell case included after negotiations

Right out of the box from Musicians Friend this thing felt, looked and sounded great. The finish was flawless as was all joints. Only after about a week did I have to make a neck adjustment but only a minor touch. Overall sound is great unplugged. With Elixirs it sounds a little bright to me. I prefer Ernie Ball Earth Woods. They give it a warmer tone although I'm constantly going back and fourth. Over the years it has shown some wear from stage and road abuse but the sound is getting better with time. The best sounds I have gotten out of it while plugged in is when using a tube amp but I like a warm tone for my acoustics. Straight thru a PA sounds OK. I think with better electronics you wouldn't need to spend to much time trying to eq the sound you want. The only time this guitar goes out of tune is when the strings start going down hill. I don't care if it's left in the case for a week. If it was in tune when it the case was closed it will be in tune when you open it even after multiple climate changes. The only time I have feedback problems is when my bassist is turned up to loud and when he hits certain notes it feels as if the thing is going to vibrate to pieces. I don't know if I'd buy it again but only because I don't like having the same thing twice. I might miss something. Overall its a great guitar. The Takamine engraved case has held up just as well showing scares from being packed into the trailer with our other gear but still functions perfectly.

Only four stars because I think the electronics could be better.

MSRP - $1775.00 (today)
MSRP - $1395.00 (when purchased)
Paid - -  $940.00  (initially paid $999.00 without case but found it at 940 w/case on another site and MF matched it)

Yes, I have never had a problem with them that wasn't fixed right away. Others sometimes can be a hassle.
