well, guess i'll introduce myself... 
i'm j (that's what everyone calls me..., i may as well not have a proper name...) from north carolina. starting college this fall and also writing bad country songs as an outlet for failed romances, crushes, general frustrations of life flavored with equal amounts sentimentality and smart alecky, sarcastic humor... i try to play guitar, but i think i have a ways to go, lol...
my musical tastes tend to run anywhere from gothic metal to old country with a lot of 70's rock included. favorite guitarist is still ritchie blackmore (deep purple, rainbow, blackmore's night) and my clean, bluesy playing tends to steal a lot from his technique, bends and vibratos... may as well throw in some hank marvin and eric clapton to that...
some of my favorites in country are tim mcgraw, kenny chesney, brad paisley, randy travis, jessica andrews, dixie chicks, leann rimes, terri clarke, etc and a lot of the old school like johnny cash, hank sr, waylon jennings, kris kristofferson, willie nelson, patsy cline, loretta lynn, tanya tucker, merle haggard, and lord knows how many others i'm forgetting...
