Large diaphragm, condenser microphone.

Requires phantom power.

Bass Cut switch provides -6dB/octave beginning at 500Hz.

Slight dip around 2kHz and rise around both 5kHz & 10kHz.

Shockmount included.

Very nice microphone for the money.  I find that this mic excels at recording "soft" female vocals (i.e. the Sundays, Cocteau Twins, Sarah McLachlan), but still does an admirable job at "harder" vocals, both male & female.  It gives a nice, clear sound with very low/minimal noise.  I have tried this mic on other instruments, but felt there were better options than this mic.  This is one of my 3 "go-to" mics in my project studio.

While shopping, I compared this mic to similar models from Audio-Technica, Behringer, MXR, Rode and Shure.  This is hands-down better than the AT and Behringer mics.  This mic was better suited for what I was looking for (recording the aforementioned "soft" female vocals) than the MXR.  The C3000B was a much better "bang for the buck" over the Rode and Shure.

While there are better mics, those that are better are much more expensive.  I don't think there's a better mic for female vocals for less than $900.  For the price, I don't mind dedicating it to one particular styling, or vocal style.

If you're only looking to record demos that never leave your house, there are less expensive mics that will do an adequate job.  If you're looking to stock a home/project studio, I think this is a "must-have" microphone.

MSRP:  $565.00;  Paid:  %299.00
