Korry -> Why doesn't my tab line up correctly? (4/6/2006 4:02:18 PM)

Q: I had a tab that looked perfect on my computer, but when I posted it on the site, the chords and all the spacing was jacked up. Why? A: Here is a lesson written by lmofle that explains it all very well. - If you use Microsoft Word or some other Word Processor (or WordPad/Notepad for that matter) make sure that you use a fixed width font. This means that the all the letters are the exact same spacing. Using a True Type font is the opposite. Times New Roman is an example of this and if you make a capital A the spacing difference between that and a small 'a' is different.
- Use the space bar to move your chords above the words. DO NOT USE TAB key. I have found this messes up the alignment as well.
- Try to put the chord EXACTLY where it changes in the song. And example
would be: E A E It was November the first, back in Nineteen Eighty Nine E B I opened a show for a bonafide hero of mine E A Ever since I was a kid, I bought everything he did E A I learned every lick and every line E B E And that honky tonky hero became a friend of mine Notice I have the first E over the 'v' in November because in this song the emphasis chord hits on that part of the verse. The same is true for the B chord over 'became'. You don't change to a B chord until be'came'. As I think up more, I will add it.
